Sydney International Convention and Exhibition Centre

Friday 31st October – Sunday 2 November, 2025

FutureDrive AutoShows will present its third and final motor show for the year with the Sydney International EV Motor Show this October. The show will present major new vehicle releases from Zeekr, Jaecoo, Chery, Volvo, Smart and Leapmotor with over 40,000 visitors expected across the three days. EV enthusiasts can get close to a broad range of EVs including the Rolls-Royce Spectre (1.2M), Lotus, Ferrari, Lamborghini, XPeng flying car and Australia’s hottest SUV, the Zeekr 7X.

“2025 has seen the biggest influx of hybrids and EVs into the Australian marketplace.” Said Ray Evans, CEO, FutureDrive Australia. “The Sydney International EV Motor Show is the perfect one-stop shop for visitors to view a range of these vehicles and to make their pre-holiday season purchase where they can literally discover, drive and buy”.

Jaecoo will unveil the J5 BEV coming in 2026 at the Thursday evening media walkaround with other vehicles to be launched including the Leapmotor B10 and Alfa Romeo Junior. New vehicles on display include the luxury 7-seater Volvo EX90 with the Australian Premiere of the Volvo ES90, Volvo's first electric sedan.

"We are committed to a fully electric future." Said Stephen Connor, Managing Director, Volvo Car Australia. "This year we have already introduced three new all-electric models to Australia, and to date our all-electric lineup equates to 40% of our total volume.”

Visitors will be able to test drive a range of vehicles from the exhibitors, including Alfa Romeo, Deepal, Leapmotor, Xpeng, Farizon, Smart and Volvo. The 2024 show welcomed 800 test drives and sold over 100 cars, cementing the show’s key audience as a buying demographic. The show traditionally attracts visitors who are looking to buy within the next twelve months, families, small businesses and people who are looking for a novated lease.

With EV technology continuously evolving, there has never been a more affordable time to make the switch, with prices ranging from $29,990 to $58,900. Many popular models are now an affordable reality with the XPeng G6 $54,800 and Zeekr 7X at $57,900. EVs continue to gain traction in the Australian marketplace, with sales predicted to reach between 15-19% in 2026. Globally, sales are expected to hit 60 million, with Australian sales growing steadily year to year.

“NSW has over 90,000 EVs now, so finding suitable charging options is now imperative for owners whether that be at home or kerbside.” Said Riz Akbar, Carloop.

There has never been a better time to not only purchase an EV but charge it at home and make use of V2G technology. In addition, the NSW Climate Energy and Action reported in July that grants to cover 75% of the costs to install public electric vehicle chargers. The kerbside charging grants will pump an additional $3 million into the installation of at least 500 chargers, while a rebate of $3,000 is available for electric batteries and hydrogen fuelled cells for vehicles valued at less than $68,000

“The best thing about EV ownership is the convenience of being able to recharge at home.” Said Tom Gan, Ludicrous Feed, “and if you have access to solar or a battery, then the savings can be quite significant when compared to refuelling an equivalent sized ICE (petrol/diesel) vehicle.

In a first for the show, new activation, The Model Reveal Stage will present vehicles never seen before to the public in daily sessions. The different vehicles sit within a broad range of prices to suit all market segments, from the affordable run-around to the high-end luxury vehicle.

The FutureDrive Live Stage Sessions will feature Ambassadors Tom Gan, Ludicrous Feed, Sam Evans, The Electric Viking, Riz Akhtar, Carloop and Jade Credentino, Marketplace Journalist. The Live Stage will feature talks on everything you need to know before buying an electric car, through to charging options, bold brands taking over and unlocking the power of V2G.

"Using your EV to eliminate electricity bills will transform Australia's power grid, accelerating the retirement of our ageing, costly coal plants for good," said Sam Evans, The Electric Viking.

The growing popularity of EVs in Australia demonstrates the importance of presenting cleaner transport options to the public. Not just economical, EVs also offer beautiful forms with designers rethinking shape and design due to the vehicles not requiring a large amount of space for a combustion engine. EVs are becoming more accessible to Australians as more brands launch into the marketplace. Many of these brands will be available to be viewed and test-driven at the show.

The Sydney International EV Motor Show will be a three-day EV extravaganza of vehicles launches, announcements, opportunities to get behind the wheel or make the switch. The show will take place from Friday 31October through to Sunday 2 November at ICC Sydney. Tickets start from $35.00 and are available now from Ticketmaster.
