Aamir is an Associate Professor, ACM Distinguished Speaker, and Director of Education at Monash University’s Department of Software Systems and Cybersecurity. He founded and co-directs the Urban Computing Lab which aims to create inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable cities, aligning with UN Sustainable Development Goal 11. Aamir has received numerous awards for his research, including the 2012 Malcolm Chaikin Prize, 2018 ARC Future Fellowship, and the 2019 Victorian Young Tall Poppy Science Award. His research focuses on data management, analytics, cloud computing, and edge computing, applied to urban computing, sustainable transportation, and smart buildings.
