Oil giant signs up its EV charging network to Chargefox app

Australian EV charging platform Chargefox has partnered with the charging network operated by Ampol, bringing Ampol’s EV chargers into the Chargefox app.

Through this integration, more than 270 charging plugs from Ampol’s network- known as AmpCharge- are now accessible to Chargefox users. This means drivers can find, activate, and pay for charging sessions across both networks using a single app.

The move is designed to make EV charging more seamless by reducing the need for multiple apps and accounts. For drivers, it simplifies long-distance travel and everyday charging by expanding the number of available stations in one place.

For Ampol, joining Chargefox increases exposure of its growing charging network and makes it easier for EV owners to use its fast and ultra-rapid chargers across Australia.

Chargefox says the partnership strengthens its coverage nationwide, helping address concerns about charger availability, often referred to as range anxiety, especially in regional areas.

Overall, the collaboration reflects a broader shift in Australia’s EV industry, where traditional fuel companies and charging platforms are working together to improve accessibility and accelerate EV adoption.
