Australia’s largest logistics electric vehicle fleet trial

National Retail Association’s Co-CEO, Rob Godwin, was privileged to attend the official unveiling of Australia’s largest logistics electric vehicle fleet trial hosted by Team Global Express. Esteemed guests, including Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Minister Chris Bowen, Darren Miller from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), and CEO Christine Holgate, gathered to mark this significant milestone. Held at the Bungarribee facility, dubbed ‘The Depot of the Future,’ the trial encompasses a 60-fleet initiative, with 36 Volvo eFLs participating in the five-year endeavour.

A notable highlight was the opportunity to connect with Martin Lundstedt, Volvo’s Global President, discussing Volvo’s commitment to manufacturing investment in Queensland and their dedication to fostering genuine sustainability in logistics.

In today’s landscape, retailers are increasingly vocal about their demand for environmentally conscious and sustainable solutions that resonate with both their business objectives and the expectations of their clientele. This underscores the imperative for companies like Volvo to continue pioneering initiatives that cater to these evolving market demands.

Additionally, the National Retail Association would like to congratulate Greg Café of Team Global Express for his remarkable 50-year tenure with the company. It’s incredible to see such loyalty and commitment within the TGE organisation.
