2025 Zeekr 7X pre-orders pass 1000 within a week of price release

Zeekr’s upcoming 7X electric SUV is off to a strong start in Australia, with over 1000 official pre-orders secured within just a week of the vehicle’s pricing announcement. The unexpectedly competitive starting price has sparked strong interest in the mid-size EV segment, setting the stage for a big debut.

Set to rival the popular Tesla Model Y, the Zeekr 7X will begin customer deliveries in October. Display models are already present in showrooms across the country, allowing early adopters to preview the vehicle in person.

Frank Li, Managing Director of Zeekr Australia, recently told Drive that the brand is targeting monthly sales of between 400 and 500 units. If achieved, that volume would put the 7X among the top contenders in the mid-size electric SUV market, challenging established players such as Kia and its parent brand Geely.

Even before official pricing was revealed, many interested buyers had submitted unofficial deposits, with Zeekr dealers reportedly receiving thousands of expressions of interest. However, the current pre-order tally reflects only confirmed, official reservations.

In recent days, some dealerships have begun requesting larger deposits to secure orders more firmly, and reports suggest some customers opting to test drive the 7X before confirming may be pushed further down the delivery queue due to high demand.

Pricing and Early-Bird Offer Details

The Zeekr 7X starts at $57,900 before on-road costs for the standard-range rear-wheel-drive variant. This price undercuts the Tesla Model Y RWD, positioning the 7X as an attractive alternative for budget-conscious EV buyers.

To sweeten the deal, Zeekr launched an early-bird incentive for the first 1000 buyers, offering a comprehensive package that includes:

• A 7-year factory warranty (up from the standard 5 years)
• 7 years of roadside assistance (also up from 5)
• A 7kW home wall charger
• A Type 2 charging cable
• A 10-amp portable charger
• Complimentary premium exterior paints and interior colour upgrades

As the EV market in Australia becomes increasingly competitive, Zeekr's aggressive pricing and value-packed early-bird offer appear to be striking the right chord with consumers. With deliveries just weeks away, and early demand already exceeding expectations, the 7X could become a major player in the EV landscape down under.
