1. Introduction
These Test Drive Terms and Conditions ("Test Drive Terms") govern your participation in supervised test drive activities at events organised by Future Drive AutoShows Australia Pty Ltd (ABN 56 678 264 901) ("we", "us", "our", "Company").
By registering for a test drive, you agree to be bound by these Test Drive Terms in addition to our general Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
2. Definitions
"Test Drive" means the supervised driving experience of a vehicle provided by participating OEMs during our events.
"Test Drive Vehicle" means any motor vehicle made available for test driving by participating manufacturers.
"Driver" means the participant operating the Test Drive Vehicle under supervision.
"Route" means the designated test drive circuit approved for the event.
"OEM Representative" means the qualified representative from the vehicle manufacturer who supervises and accompanies you during the test drive.
3. Driver Eligibility and Requirements
3.1 Licence Requirements
- You must hold a current, full Australian driver's licence
- International licences are not accepted for test drive participation
- Your licence must be valid throughout the test drive period
- You must present your physical licence for verification before each test drive
3.2 Age and Capacity Requirements
- You must be at least 18 years of age
- You must be physically and mentally capable of safely operating a motor vehicle
- You must disclose any medical conditions that may affect your driving ability during registration
- You must not be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication that impairs driving
3.3 Registration Requirements
- Valid event ticket verification is mandatory before booking confirmation
- Completion of test drive registration form including emergency contact details
- Signed liability waiver and risk acknowledgement required
- Maximum of 2 test drive bookings per person per day
4. Booking and Scheduling
4.1 Expression of Interest and Booking Process
- Pre-event expressions of interest can be submitted via our website inquiry form
- Expressions of interest do not guarantee test drive availability
- Actual test drive bookings are confirmed through our onsite booking portal
- The booking portal opens at the event (no later than when the show opens to ticket holders)
- Valid event ticket verification is required before booking confirmation
- Test drive bookings are free for valid event ticket holders
- Confirmed bookings are in real-time and cannot be transferred to other persons
4.2 Booking Limitations
- Maximum 2 bookings per person per day
- Bookings are subject to vehicle availability
- No-shows forfeit their booking slot without rebooking rights
4.3 Operating Schedule
- Test drive operating hours vary by event and will be communicated during registration
- You must arrive at your scheduled time or forfeit your booking
- Late arrivals may forfeit their booking if it impacts the schedule
5. Supervised Test Drive Experience
5.1 Supervision Requirements
- All test drives are supervised by a qualified OEM representative
- The OEM representative will accompany you in the vehicle throughout the entire experience
- You must follow all instructions from the supervising OEM representative
- The supervisor has authority to terminate the test drive immediately for safety reasons
5.2 Test Drive Duration
- Each test drive slot is allocated 30 minutes total
- This includes initial vehicle familiarisation and safety briefing
- Actual driving time is approximately 20 minutes
- You must return the vehicle at the scheduled time
5.3 Vehicle Familiarisation
- The OEM representative will provide a comprehensive vehicle briefing before departure
- You must complete the safety briefing before operating the vehicle
- Ask questions about vehicle operation during the briefing
- Ensure you understand all vehicle controls before departure
6. Safety Requirements and Route Compliance
6.1 Mandatory Safety Compliance
- You must complete a safety briefing before each test drive
- Strict adherence to the designated test drive route is mandatory
- Speed limits must be observed at all times
- You must follow all traffic laws and road rules
6.2 Route and Driving Requirements
- No deviation from the approved route is permitted
- Aggressive driving, racing, or stunts are strictly prohibited
- You must operate the vehicle safely and responsibly at all times
- The supervising OEM representative will provide route guidance
6.3 Emergency Procedures
- Emergency contact protocols will be provided during safety briefing
- You must immediately report any incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues to your supervisor
- The OEM representative will coordinate emergency response if required
- Event emergency contact details will be provided during registration
7. Vehicle Responsibility and Conduct
7.1 Vehicle Condition
- You will inspect the vehicle for existing damage with the OEM representative before departure
- Any pre-existing damage will be noted and acknowledged
- You are responsible for the vehicle during the supervised test drive
- You must return the vehicle in the same condition as received
7.2 Prohibited Activities During Test Drive
- No smoking, eating, or drinking in test drive vehicles
- Mobile phone use while driving is prohibited (hands-free operation permitted)
- No removal of items from vehicles
- No unauthorised photography or filming inside vehicles
7.3 Vehicle Return
- You must return the vehicle to the designated area at the scheduled time
- Vehicle inspection will be conducted upon return
- Any damage must be reported and documented immediately
- Vehicle keys remain with the OEM representative throughout
8. Insurance and Liability
8.1 Insurance Coverage
- Test drive vehicles are covered by manufacturer insurance policies during the supervised experience
- The Company maintains public liability insurance for event operations
- You remain personally liable for damage caused by negligent or reckless behaviour
8.2 Liability and Risk Acknowledgement
- You participate in supervised test drives at your own risk
- You acknowledge that motor vehicle operation involves inherent risks
- You agree to indemnify the Company against claims arising from your participation
- You accept responsibility for any damage caused by your negligent operation of the vehicle
8.3 Incident Reporting and Investigation
- All incidents, regardless of severity, must be reported immediately to your supervising OEM representative
- Incident reports must be completed before leaving the venue
- You agree to cooperate fully with any insurance investigations
- False or misleading incident reports may result in legal action
9. Lead Generation and Data Sharing
9.1 Marketing Consent
- Test drive participation constitutes consent for follow-up contact by participating OEMs
- Your contact details and vehicle preferences will be shared with relevant manufacturers
- Lead data is provided to manufacturers within 7 working days post-event
- You may opt out of marketing communications using standard unsubscribe methods
9.2 Data Collection
- We collect driver's licence details for verification purposes only
- Test drive participation data is used for lead generation and event analytics
- Data handling complies with our Privacy Policy and Australian Privacy Principles
- Information collected includes contact details, vehicle preferences, and test drive history
10. Cancellations and Changes
10.1 Participant Cancellations
- Test drive bookings are non-refundable
- Cancellations should be made at least 2 hours before scheduled time where possible
- No-shows forfeit their booking without rebooking rights
- Alternative time slots may be offered subject to availability
10.2 Event Cancellations
- We reserve the right to cancel test drives for safety, weather, or operational reasons
- Cancelled test drives do not entitle participants to compensation
- Weather-related decisions prioritise participant safety
- Alternative arrangements will be offered where possible
11. Enforcement and Consequences
11.1 Violations
Failure to comply with these terms may result in:
- Immediate termination of test drive privileges
- Removal from event premises without refund
- Exclusion from future test drive programs
- Legal action for serious breaches or damage
11.2 Safety Violations
Safety violations will result in immediate test drive termination and may be reported to relevant authorities where appropriate.
12. General Provisions
12.1 Governing Law
- These Test Drive Terms are governed by the law of the state/territory where the event occurs
- Australian Consumer Law protections apply where relevant
- Motor vehicle liability governed by relevant state motor vehicle legislation
12.2 Entire Agreement
These Test Drive Terms, together with our general Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy, constitute the complete agreement for test drive participation.
12.3 Updates
We may update these terms to reflect operational changes or legal requirements. Updated versions will be published on our website with immediate effect.
